One secret to our rum is the water collected from the Vallée de Mai. Here grows the endemic coco de mer palm, that the Victorians named the Tree of Knowledge. Well, the locals seem to know good rum when they taste it, so perhaps there’s something in it.

Takamaka is crafted and blended by the d’Offay brothers in Au Cap on the Island of Mahé, at the family’s historical La Plaine St André homestead. Founded by early French settlers, the Estate has been home for over 200 years to an entrepreneurial family culture and tradition. It remains a historically important settlement with a long association to farming tropical spices, which today are blended into Takamaka rums.
